MY ACTING STORY
Or some words to that effect...
I have been performing on stage and in the theatrical world for over ten years now, and have just made the transition from the stage to screen.
Having recently progressed into film and TV work, my ventures have led me to audition and become a member of the BGT Actors Division in Auckland New Zealand, then to Karen Kay.
Some of my more major productions have been in theatre, Shakespeare plays, and taking part in Oxford's annual Shakespeare Festival.
I have landed leading character roles ranging from the sinister Richard III to more comedic roles such as Feste the Jester, and have taken on major lead roles in interactive and immersive theatrical experiences with leading Scare Entertainments companies (AtmosFear) to Murder Mysteries, Haunted Houses, Scare Mazes, live theatrical tours, engaging historical character performances, and Escape Room experiences.
I have also performed with the renowned Isle of Wight Ghost Experience team as a scare/character actor.
In 2023 I was cast as the lead role in a theatrical production of 'Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde' with The Mystery Theatre. I also assisted in writing the script, and had some input in the direction. This was a blend of songs from the musical and an original take on the story. A few years ago I was cast as the lead role of Dracula for a short horror feature film (Harker).
As well as performing in, I have also assisted in writing and directing two plays entitled ‘A Fate Worse than Death’ and ‘Roman Roots'. The production was funded by the National Heritage Lottery Fund and won the Terry Hyde Award for ‘Best Staging of a Musical'.
Other skills include horse riding, woodwind instrument playing (flute & tin whistle), folk dancing and stage combat.
Training: Private training (Karin Heslop), skills training and performance workshops/bootcamps (AtmosFEAR), (Vectis Buccaneers), singing (classical) training with Linda Filby Borrett. Attended South Wight Youth Theatre (5 years).

OTHER WORK
I am currently in the process of writing my second novella. The other creative path I am following is the writing and illustration of my own works. My thanks and gratitude go to the Mike Howley Trust for providing me with the funding to aid in the persuit of this goal.
Inspired largely by my numerous wanderings of the Island cliffs and coastlines, the story focuses on the Island shipwrecks and the mysterious origins of some of its lighthouses. Needless to say, there are various ghostly shenanigans that take place...
My first preview of this book, took place at the Quay Arts Centre on the Isle of Wight, January 2020. I was invited to do a live reading and was told that I had a 'voice made for Audible'. Chuffed to bits by the positive response!
WRAP PARTY FOR TERROR ISLAND
I was over the moon to receive this 'Oscare' award by AtmosFear for my performance on Terror Island! Some of the best fun I have had in ages with any kind of acting work. I can also say quite honestly that it was among the toughest, most intense gigs I have ever experienced- that said, I am certain that our adrenaline-loving spectators (and those who were dragged along for the ride) would argue they had it worse! (or better, depending on how you might view it-). There is, and will always be a strange kind of pleasure that one obtains from being a scare actor, or the villain in any story, film or theatrical experience.
